WHO IS MELANIE?
Melanie is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, NBC-HWC, who is passionate about helping people identify what's truly important to them so they can explore ways to make meaningful, sustainable change. She's dedicated to helping her clients thrive in their professional and personal lives.
With over 25 years of experience, Melanie has worked with many diverse populations including people with physical, developmental and psychiatric disabilities, professional athletes, medical and business professionals.
She spent several years doing hospital-based, clinical research at Johns Hopkins University in the departments of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Neurology. She also provided case management in the outpatient Sports Rehab clinic at Gwinnett Medical Center.
In addition to providing education, consulting and coaching services through Design It... LIVE IT!!!, Melanie was a Behavioral Coach with AbleTo for almost 5 years, providing one-on-one coaching for people recovering from or managing medical conditions, such as heart disease, depression, diabetes, anxiety and breast cancer as well as adjusting to life transitions, like career change, the birth of a child or the loss of a loved one.
Melanie is also an Adjunct Psychology Instructor at Gwinnett Technical College and a Health Coach Instructor and Mentor with the Emory Health Coach Certificate program in Atlanta, Georgia. Melanie has served on several committees with the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) writing, editing and reviewing exam items and is currently serving on the Program Approval Commission for the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).
